The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) in Tabasco announced that, starting this Saturday, June 27, there will be a partial traffic closure on the Villahermosa–Francisco Escárcega highway, specifically along the section between kilometer markers 78+000 and 82+000.
The agency explained that these operations are part of the modernization and expansion project for this major roadway, which involves dismantling pedestrian structures located at kilometer markers 71+780 and 81+820.
According to the official statement, work will begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 6:00 p.m., during which time one lane will be partially affected.
The SICT detailed that removing the structures requires setting up a crane, placing counterweights, and performing controlled cuts to lower the components to ground level; consequently, part of the roadway will be occupied for several hours.
To prevent major complications and avoid traffic becoming a headache for motorists and transport operators, vertical and horizontal signage will be in place, along with flaggers at both ends of the section and support from the National Guard to facilitate traffic flow.
The agency estimates that traffic will be fully restored once the work is completed around 6:00 p.m.
Authorities urged the public to drive cautiously, obey traffic signs, and allow extra travel time if planning to use this route during the day.
