The Attorney General of the State of Tabasco, Óscar Tonathiu Vázquez Landeros, confirmed the arrest of two individuals allegedly linked to acts of cannibalism committed against their victims in the municipality of Centro.
According to the official, the now-detained individuals were identified from several videos that went viral on social media in August 2025, in which they are seen consuming human remains.
Without specifying the exact date the arrest warrants were executed, Vázquez Landeros explained that initially one of the suspects was arrested for homicide.
Subsequently, by opening a parallel line of investigation, authorities established a connection to the videos circulating on social media, which led to the location and arrest of a second suspect.
The Attorney General also indicated that the investigations are ongoing and that five other young people are being sought who are allegedly involved in these crimes.
