Public transport users in Tabasco have raised their voices to complain about the extreme and uncomfortable conditions they face daily inside collective taxis. Residents from various areas, such as Villa Benito Juárez in Cárdenas and Ciudad La Venta, reported that drivers routinely operate their vehicles without turning on the air conditioning system, turning the cars into literal rolling ovens for everyday commuters.
This issue has become particularly severe due to the intense regional heat wave, with local temperatures soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius (104°F). Although official regulations establish fines and penalties for operators who circulate without this basic service, passengers pointed out that several drivers falsely argue they are not legally mandated to keep the climate control running on suburban and community routes.
In response to this situation, affected citizens have issued a strong plea to the Ministry of Mobility, urging authorities to step up supervision and clearly enforce the mandatory use of air conditioning across all types of public transport. Commuters demand an immediate intervention to halt these irregularities, ensuring safe, humane, and dignified rides as they travel through the sweltering state.
