Modernization progresses on Tabasco-Campeche highway section

The Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation, Jesús Esteva Medina, announced progress on highway modernization projects in southeastern Mexico during Thursday’s morning press conference, highlighting advancements on the Macuspana-Escárcega highway.

According to the official, 16 kilometers of this important highway were improved in 2025, while this year the project is slated to expand significantly with an additional 32 kilometers in Tabasco and 8 more kilometers in the state of Campeche.

These actions are part of the federal strategy to strengthen regional connectivity, improve road safety, and expedite the transport of people and goods in one of the country’s key regions.

The modernization of this highway segment is considered a priority, as it connects strategic points in the southeast and contributes to the region’s economic development.
